Militar-SHE

I had a little shopping spree at Target to pick up some need-for-London items, and that haul 4 of the items of clothing the same shade of green.

The cashier even pointed out, "you must like this color" to which I responded, "yes, it brings out my eyes."

These pants were one of them.

Shoesday: Juicy Wedges

It's been a while.

Things have been crazy and because of that my blog has been slightly neglected. Between familial obligations, so much family in town the only silent moment is when we're all fast asleep, many days working on sets in the blazing heat all day in pants and long sleeves (I'm talking 6:30AM until 8PM), and that alone takes at least a day to recover from, and now Shark Week and we all know it's one of my favorite time of the year, my blog has taken a hit.

Well, not just my blog. My free days are spent in some form of comfortable clothes and a tank top or t-shirt with frizzy hair, so I haven't quite had the inspiration that I usually do.

So I'm putting my foot down and cranking this out while my niece (and I think sister) are napping, and what better way to celebrate a come back than with SHOES. My favorite thing to collect.

Redded Bliss

My family welcomed a new member to our clan this April when my brother got married!

As I've previously mentioned, special occasions are cause for a new outfit, and being sister-of-the-groom is a pretty darn good excuse!

But that doesn't mean it's easy!

Summer Shimmer

Ah, the most wonderful time of the year has finally arrived.

It's not quite warm enough to wear shorts and a tank top all day, but balancing one or the other with a winter garment (like pants or long sleeve shirt) and you're golden.

Something Blue

In just a couple of days my brother will be a married man.

Hard to believe he found someone willing to put up with him! Ha!

With weddings come showers. With showers come outings needing cute outfits.

Shoesday Tuesday: Split Wedge Sandals

It's no secret that my Achilles' heel is shoes.

and these shoes rendered me immobile at first sight.

So I bought myself a birthday gift.

Wear My Heart on My Sleeve

Valentine's Day.

You either love it or hate it.

And while my Valentine was Bogart and I spent the day with my parents, I didn't hate it.

Partly because I loved my outfit.

Blue Me Away

My high school friend Kallie tied the knot this past September and a special occasion calls for a new dress! Kallie and I met in high school when we were not only both on the softball team (where she once nailed me in the hip with the ball, lol) but also had a number of classes together all 4 years. We became quick friends and always have a great time together.
We tore up the dance floor!

When telling other people about Kallie, it often starts with "My friend Kallie, she shows cows!... and goes to poultry judging classes!..." She's country to the core and I love it.

I'm very big on birthdays and special occasions, and am strongly against myself wearing something I've worn a number of times to something as special as a wedding. Clothing holds memories and I like special memories to have the first impression on a fantastic new outfit. So the hunt for a great dress began...the day before the wedding! I am so, so pleased with the dress I found.

Little did I realize it would become a dress I would rock year round!

A WEAR in Review

This time of year gets you all nostalgic and stuff, so I'm taking a walk down memory lane and revisiting some of my favorite looks from 2014!

The Snowflake is so Delightful

I'm jumping for joy this holiday season. Mostly because I finally kicked that nasty flu to the curb (without getting pneumonia!) and can actually function now!

And because I'm obsessed with this sweater.

Raising a Parting Glass

My beloved Grandpa passed away on October 1st.

He went fast, but had a beautiful 88 years  and he was ready to go home and see his wife! It's strange when someone who is a constant in your life is suddenly no longer there. I would always joke with him and tell him he has to stick around until I got married, to which he always replied "well you'd better hurry up." He was a wonderful man and I'm so grateful that I got 23 years with him.
