Some friends and I meandered through parts of the city, getting slightly lost along the way, though we didn't mind because we quite enjoyed the beautiful, sun-shiney London day we had.

Something I love more than a good party is a themed party. Whether it's Halloween, dress up, or themed, it's a great way for people to be creative and an excellent conversation starter!
As I mentioned in A WEAR in Review, I went to visit my bestie at med school where we went to a friend of her's birthday parties, aka an 'R' party (Birthday girl's name started with an R). I thought that was a brilliant idea! It was difficult to find a good R idea that wouldn't mean going to the store and buying something. I spent days Googling and fretting over what I would be, and finally resigned to being Ron.

A WEAR in Review
This time of year gets you all nostalgic and stuff, so I'm taking a walk down memory lane and revisiting some of my favorite looks from 2014!

English Musings
Lots have changed lately. My friends left, and that's been super sad. We went to high tea before and that was fun. But they've left now :(
I met up with my family on Saturday morning. We went on a hop on/hop off tour of the city. Then we took a little cruise on the Thames. We walked around a bit, saw the palace, Trafalgar square, The Royal Mews, and some other places. Including a picnic in Hyde Park. We also had a delicious dinner at this Italian place called Zizzi.
Sunday, we went on the London Eye. Lots of the tube lines were closed (partially) for routine maintenance so we had to do a big go-around and FINALLY got there. It was really neat. We walked around the South Bank, got some ice cream, then went to Hyde Park and looked at the Prince Albert monument, the Peter Pan statue and the Princess Diana memorial fountain. I wanted to catch the final game of the Euro cup in a pub, and we needed to get there by 7 to get a table- but we didn't finish all the other stuff until after 7:45, so it was basically POINTLESS to go attempt to go in one, much less eat. We tried anyways, until we eventually headed back and looked for places around where we were staying. We came across one pub just down the street from us but it was minutes after 9 and the pub kitchens close at 9. So we were out of luck, and we just went back and ordered some pizza/ate left overs.

Ode to London
As some of you may know, 'flipping the bird' here is a little different than back home. Rather than the middle finger, here they do the pointer and middle finger, either open (like a peace sign) or closed, with the palm of your hand facing you. It is said that this (the closed finger) came about when England was fighting against France at the Tower of London. The bows could be shot a certain distance and when an archer was captured by the French, they would cut off those two fingers, thus rendering him useless. So, when the British were prevailing, as kind of a "nanny nanny boo boo" they would put those two fingers in the air, as to say "ha ha, looks like you're gonna die now". Pretty cool, huh?
At the pub, I have fallen in love with the drink called Pimms. It's so delicious and fruity and fresh. In my class, we're currently doing haikus and he had us write one about something we've experienced here that has made an impact. So, I wrote one about Pimms. Here goes:
I mentioned my friends and I went to the pub the other night (and again last night to watch some of England v. France) and pubs here are very interesting. ANYONE is allowed inside; they even have a children's menu at the table! While we were there the first night, someone even brought their baby in! Last night, a family (either from Canada or Minnesota) came in with their four under-10 years old children! Crazy!
