Covent Garden Christmas

London celebrated my two-month residency with a festival — full of mulled wine and Christmas lights... someone must have told them of my love of wine and Christmas. ;)

Any who, I thought I'd take y'all along for the evening!... enjoy!

Keep Calm and Camden On

Next up: Camden Town!

I'm joined by fellow American Melissa as we explore this quirky little place.

Princes and Castles and Stuff

It's been a while!

I've hit - and surpassed - my one-month mark, which is crazy to believe! It honestly feels like I've been here for ages.

Probably because I have been so busy with everything!

But I finally took some time to have a one-sided chat with you to fill you in on everything that's been going on!

We're So American

Exploring the city has become the only plans I make at the week end.

This excursion ended up being myself, along with two fellow brunette Americans, and the two of them both wearing denim jackets, what are the odds! It took a lot of will power to stay away from the water, a place I gravitate towards any chance I get... We were a mere two blocks away but I resisted!

I'm positive we looked mega touristy, considering we almost got hit by cars a number of times, carried a London travel book, and stopped at a touristy souvenir shop.

Which Way Are We Going?

We've finished induction week, so it was time to do a little exploring!

Some friends and I meandered through parts of the city, getting slightly lost along the way, though we didn't mind because we quite enjoyed the beautiful, sun-shiney London day we had.

London Musings

My life in London has begun to settle in.

What better time to give you a peek at where I am, where I'll be, and what I've learned thus far!

And no worries, I don't cry in this one ;)

It Gets Real

I've completed my first 36ish hours in London and what an adventure they've been!

Yesterday, after a flight, taxi ride, and move-in, I still managed to walk 70 steps shy of 13,000 steps! That's nothing compared to today's upper 16,000's!!!!

But it all hasn't been diamonds and rosè....

4,190 Miles & 9 Inches

My upcoming move to London has been garnering quite the questions! Many of them are the same questions, so I made a little video answering those common questions.

New Year's Re-SEW-loution: August

What a journey it's been!

Since I'm moving very soon, the remainder of my re-sew-loution has been put on hold until further notice.

This month's project went off without a hitch — I did it 100% on my own! Talk about ending on a high note!

Militar-SHE

I had a little shopping spree at Target to pick up some need-for-London items, and that haul 4 of the items of clothing the same shade of green.

The cashier even pointed out, "you must like this color" to which I responded, "yes, it brings out my eyes."

These pants were one of them.

Transitional Hybrid

Before the weather became stupid hot, there was a very small window consisting of beautiful blue skies and perfect temperatures.

I love that time of year, mostly for the temperatures, but mainly because the options of what to wear encompasses my entire wardrobe. Tank tops and pants, shorts and long sleeves, boots or sandals, and layers.

Trouser Trooping

I have no clue who the other people are under the masks!
Since the Trooping of the Colour is taking place in London this weekend, I thought I'd take a stroll down memory lane and revisit one of my most memorable (and slightly questionable) looks, which took place at the 2012 Trooping of the Colour.

But first a little background:

Want it Wednesday: Walking Shoes

Ask any one that knows me and the one thing they will say the one thing I don't need more of, is shoes.

A statement that I completely and totally,
disagree
with.

Much like the Loch Ness Monster, "too many shoes" is a myth that no one has any concrete evidence to support.

My arsenal of shoes has a couple holes, one being walking shoes.

Bangle Jangle

Outfits aren't complete without accessories and I have been wearing these bangles with just about everything.

These bangles are a complete set, meaning they came together. Some are even attached via the dangling charm.

These were a gift (I don't remember if it was for Christmas or my birthday... I opened them at the same time!) from my best friend. I remember her telling me she liked them so much after she got them for me she went back and got a set for herself!

Cut Rate Chic

Holy moly I am loving this weather.

I'm currently sitting outside, resting my feet on our new fire pit enjoying the buzz of the bugs (I use the term "enjoying" loosely. As long as they don't land/crawl on me they're OK) and watching Bogart frolic in the grass and warm his belly in the sunshine.

The skies are blue.

The weather is warm enough to wear light layers but cool enough to not sweat the instant you start thinking about venturing outside.

Want it Wednesday: Ideal Christmas List

It's Christmas time and it's easy to get carried away as the sugar plumb fairies dance in your head. We all have those items that we can only dream of getting and daring to put them on your Christmas list will get your family laughing straight through the New Year.
Well, this blog is entirely dedicated to those items. In a world where price doesn't matter, these items would be topping my list (in no specific order).

Spoiler Alert: this is a very superficial post, so if that offends you please click off now :)

Same Page, Different Chapter

I planned on doing this post yesterday, but my internet was out since Thursday and just came back up.

A year ago yesterday (6/8) marked exactly 1 year ago I got on a plane and left for London.
But it's so much more than that. Aside from the obvious fact that I went to London on that day, it's probably one of the best days of my life so far.

Life Needs to Hit the Breaks!

The quickly approaching graduation has really got me thinking that life really needs to hit the breaks, or at least yield! I feel like I'm finally really happy where I am, but come May, that's all going to be shaken and stirred and spit into a place where I know nobody and nothing. I know May may seem like ages away, but in the scheme of things, it's really only a few months. Life is going to be pretty crazy starting really soon.

A Look at My Summer

Believe it or not, this summer I did actually do some work. I wanted to share some pieces with you, but for a reason or two (OK- well because my sister is pregnant but we weren't out of the woods yet about telling everyone) I waited. So as I sit procrastinating cleaning the other half of my desk and the miscellaneous items left to unpack in my closet I came across my notebook from this summer and decided to share. I'll do just a couple at a time so I don't overwhelm my readers! Ha!
